Job Description
Responsible for the overall success of the hotel, meeting or exceeding planned objectives for revenue and profit, and ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met. Manages all areas of the hotel in accordance with brand standards to achieve a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality. Provides exemplary performance for staff to follow.
Guest Relations
- Be readily available/approachable for all guests.
- Ensure that departments achieve or exceed guest’s service expectations.
- Take proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
- Extend professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
- Become involved in the community and/or government affairs.
- Handle guest relations and resolving complaints and conflicts
- Can communicate to guests about hotel promotions, local attractions, and points of interest.
Operations
- Audit to ensure guest rooms, public spaces, grounds, work and kitchen areas meet sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Maintaining quality & assurance through random audits
- Leads the training of new personnel and retraining of current personnel
- Coordinates preventive maintenance
- Directs and oversees day to day operations of the hotel -- Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, Marketing, Guest Relations, Human Resource
- Establishes Standard Operating Procedures and ensures its implementation
- Oversees property management of entire building -- maintenance, meter readings
Administrative
- Interview and select potential new hires
- Review period and end reports
- Use constructive coaching and counseling when addressing associate concerns
- Monitors personnel performance
- Implements code of conduct
Financial
- Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals, balancing cost with guest satisfaction
- Comply with all corporate accounting procedures
- Maximize revenue through the Yield Management and inventory control systems
- Aggressively minimize accident, workmen’s compensation, and unemployment claims and resulting costs
- Utilize budgets to teach the team to understand financial objectives. Balancing costs with associates/guests satisfaction
- Oversee all accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, payroll an ordering procedure
- Keeps track of sales vs forecast, consumption vs. budget -- Working operational income statement
Sales and Marketing
- Communicates competitive market conditions to team supervisors and directors
- Stays current on local market conditions
- Designs and implements promotional programs for local and corporate marketing to reach sales targets
- Initiation of offline marketing efforts, not limited to events and partnerships
- Handling of group or corporate accounts
- Processing of online pre-payments and initiation of online transmittals
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5-years experience in hotel management
- Able to lead and motivate team
