It all started when the founders, Mr. and Mrs. Surya Rahardja opened a small decent store in a robust town called Pasar Pagi, in the heart of Central Jakarta in 1970. Business began with selling common and popular household consumer goods, which of course included Unilever products. With friendly customer service and an established rapport with customers, this store went on to become Toko Srikaya in 1984, after a successful proposal to be an authorized agent of Unilever. Business progressed tremendously and with the support of Unilever Indonesia, PT. Srikaya Mitramakmur was finally established in 1990. The company now houses more than 100 employees, commands a fleet of 25 lorries, and has an annual revenue of more than Rp150 billion.
