Job Description
- Supports operating units by implementing human resources programs; solving performance problems.
- Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services:
- Talent acquisition
- Staffing
- Employment processing
- Compensation
- Health and welfare benefits
- Training and development
- Records management
- Safety and health
- Succession planning
- Employee relations and retention
- AA/EEO compliance
- Labor relations
- Completing personnel transactions.
- Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
- Improves manager and employee performance by:
- Identifying and clarifying problems.
- Evaluating potential solutions.
- Implementing selected solution.
- Coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Considers staffing logistics and takes responsibility for recruiting staff for the organisation.
- Contributes to space planning.
- Handles the personal and professional development of the organisation’s personnel.
- Takes care of employee welfare, safety, wellness and health and counselling.
- Involves self in the development and implementation of policy documents and handbooks that can be referred to by employees.
- Develops sand documents HR policies inline with the company’s corporate vision.
- Takes care of performance management working closely with senior management within the organisation.
- Develops compensation and benefits systems that fit the company’s HR responsibilities.
- Generates communication channels with the whole company.
- Stands as a key decision making entity regarding employee communiation
- Manages the administration of the policies, procedures, and programmes of the organisation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
- May also be required to hold qualifications related to human resources.
- Experience in the role of Human Resources Supervisory or a very similar position and be able to demonstrate your complete understanding of the position.
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to analyse and present information in such a way that is understood by everyone within the organisation from the Chairman to the cleaning staff.
- Extremely well organised and methodical in your approach to problem solving and be able to manage filing/database system.
- Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite for a HR Generalist as you will be dealing with employees on every level.
- Understand the legalities of business law in relation to HR and employee employment rights and how to apply them within your day-to-day work, company policy documentation and staff welfare.
- You must be able to operate Microsoft Office and be familiar with any other software pertinent to your industry.
