Job Description
The PR Associate/Writer assists the PR and Events Manager and MRO in handling PR initiatives that include article seeding, media invites and coordination with media entity on syndicated releases, features, and interviews.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the marketing communications group media database, contacts and other suppliers related to press and events management.
- Assist the MRO in maintenance of the company’s media resources i.e. electronic news releases, newspaper clippings, TV and radio pickups etc.
- Assist with preparation for news conferences and special events i.e. write or collaborate on media releases, prepare press kits, prepare speaking notes for members of senior administration called on to speak at news conferences and special events.
- Conduct research, write, and edit a variety of materials as assigned i.e. letters, articles, and special reports.
- Occasionally write and edit features and news items as required by the marketing and brand management group.
Minimum Qualifications
- A graduate of any related course i. e. Marketing, Management, Mass Communications, Communication Arts, etc…
- At least one (1) year work experience in the above functions in a similar industry.
- Preferably with established media contacts.
- Excellent in communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends.
