General Manager  

The General Manager is responsible for the financial performance and profitability of the company. The role includes strategic management, sales planning, market development, merchandising and inventory management, warehousing and logistics management and human capital management.

Strategic Direction

• Develops and implements business strategies for operational management to ensure attainment short term and long-term organizational and financial objectives.
• Conceptualizes, formulates and implements marketing strategies taking into consideration customer profile, resource structure, major vendors, market/fashion trends, items and price points to achieve sales objectives
• Drive enhancement programs to create a culture of continuous improvement, service excellence, and high performance within the country.
• Prepares annual and/or medium-term business plan for submission and approval of the Board

Business Building & Revenue Generation

• Delivers operational leadership and assume full P&L responsibility for all business relationships between the Company and its portfolio and delivers profitable growth.
• Manages, directs and drives sales and marketing operations with the end view of increasing market reach and market share.
• Drive business growth in the country by managing the team particularly in reviewing opportunities for new sales distribution channels, approving overall sales and product plan for per category, recommending purchase budgets and guides, appraising detailed plans for brands/products per category, evaluating marketing, advertising and promotion activities for their markets and conceptualizes programs and activities that drive the market and expand customer base and volume.

Cost & Financial Management

• Accounts for the planning of the over-all budget of the region/country and makes certain that internal budget plans are monitored and controlled throughout the year.
• Ensures that sales targets are met.
• Leads the constant drive and focus to improve operational efficiency via process, people or practical measures. In effect raise the bar on business performance delivery.
• Ensures achievement of high manpower and resource productivity, and effective cost control with the objective of increasing profitability.
• Looks for possibilities of internal cost savings either through policy creation or process improvement.

Human Capital

• Manages and directs job responsibilities of direct reports and allocate work accordingly.
• Builds capacity by working closely with Human Resources in planning the manpower requirements and identifying skills and knowledge trainings that will be needed by its members.
• Provides mentoring to leaders and high-potential members to provide them with appropriate technical knowledge, experience and guidance in the delivery of their work.
• Initiates KRA contracting and administers performance appraisal to all concerned employees in the region/country.

General Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s Degree Holder; preferably with MBA units
• At least 10 years of strong operational, retail and distribution, experience; 5 years of which were spent in a Senior Management Leadership/Managerial function.
• Preferably, with solid experience in managing companies in the Southeast Asia region.
• Proven track record of delivering high quality corporate governance in a comparable organisation, contributing to an excellent reputation for that organisation as a leader in its sector.
• Fluent in English and knowledge in local language is an advantage.
