Job Description
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during the development and enhancement of production applications \
- Work with applications, technical support and operations teams during the design, development, and implementation of applications
- Ensure the availability and performance of the databases
- Performance tuning and query optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integrity issues, locking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues and security issues
- Detect and resolve SQL Server CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention issues
- Develop and maintain a security scheme and assist in disaster recovery when necessary
- Write and troubleshoot SQL code
- Provide IT with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related field required
- Experience in database design, development and support in MS SQL Server environments
- Experience in Database Administration in SQL Server (versions 2005 through 2014), Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Knowledge and experience maintaining SQL Server replication between multiple servers
- Experience with SQL Server consolidation and upgrades
- Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, clustering, database mirroring and replication
- Knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics
- Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs and system sprocs)
