Tableau Administrator & Developer  

Tasks & Duties:

Administrative & Maintenance

• Perform system administration duties for Tableau deployment such as Tableau and OS upgrades/updates
• Monitor Tableau server performance & health to plan ahead for hardware/infrastructure upgrades with back-end engineers
• Perform necessary Tableau server maintenance processes (server back-ups, file clean-up etc)
• Provide appropriate training and support to business users on the use of Tableau products (Tableau Desktop, Server and Prep) as necessary
• Identify and assist in the transfer of data from application systems to the Data Lake to Tableau server
• Manage workbooks created by others and oneself
• Work closely with back-end engineers of various products to ensure data availability to meet requirements and data database/warehouse design to support dashboard performance and report availability
• Work with back-end engineers to ensure optimal design of data systems to support reporting requirements.

Development

• Document dashboard and data analysis requirements from business users
• Create appropriate data processing pipelines, dashboards & workbooks to support business initiatives
• Perform tests on dashboard and database queries to ensure correctness of data and dashboard

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related field
• 2+ Years of using Tableau as Dashboard Developer and Server administrator.
• 2+ Years of writing SQL queries
• 2+ years of implementing and maintaining BI tool platform and processes on the cloud (AWS/GCP)
• Understanding of Datawarehouse design, related concepts, table normalizations, data mart schemas etc
• Have past involvement in Data Warehouse / Datalake development

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Tableau Certification (Desktop and/or Server)
• Experience working with LINUX & Shell scripting
• Programming ability is a plus
