Job Description

The Information System Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining application systems.

  • Maintains applications by:
    • troubleshooting and fixing application-related IT concerns,
    • providing knowledge on application usage and integration with other systems,
    • analyzing user requirements and translating them to technical requirements,
    • performing impact analysis on requested changes,
    • and developing enhancements to address user requirements.
  • Is also expected to evaluate commercially available software and identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources.
  • Ensures high quality of systems deployed to customers by following standard procedures and methodology.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any equivalent course

Experience:

With at least 3 years experience in handling projects preferably related to the IT industry

  • Self-starting attitude
  • Can plan, organize and prioritize work, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Can communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with internal and external users, peers, and management, to clearly and concisely communicate, to develop good working relationships and use facilitation skills.
  • Can effectively conduct training
  • Excellent attention to technical details
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with customers at all level
  • Willing to extend beyond regular working hours
  • Willing to travel to sites

Technical Competencies - Working Knowledge in:

  • Requirements Analysis
  • Systems Analysis and Design
  • MySQL and/or Oracle databases
  • Software Application Testing
  • Project Management
  • Process Management
  • Information Risk Assessment and Evaluation
  • Customer Interaction & Relationship
  • Application Maintenance and Support
  • Helpdesk Process and Operations (Service Desk)
  • Thorough knowledge in Oracle/Java/Php and/or other development platforms used in Pilmico
