Job Description
The Farms Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient transport and inventory management of live hogs, carcasses and meat cuts, including packaging materials, and tools and supplies. He/She supervises the transport, receiving, dispatch, and storage of live hogs (transport and receiving only), of carcasses, meat work-in-process and finished goods ensuring that standards on quality and safety, efficiency, cleanliness and orderliness are met at all times. He/she also manages the accurate and timely system receiving and inventory of identified live hogs, carcasses, and meat cuts. He/she is also responsible in coordinating to Production the consolidated order requirements to ensure that Finished Goods are available at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving of live hogs
1. Plans and schedules, in coordination with Production Supervisor, the Live hogs transfer according to the consolidated carcass and meat cut orders, considering the existing inventory.
2. Ensures proper receiving and recording of live hogs’ quantity and weights transferred from the farm to the slaughterhouse.
3. Coordinates with the Production Supervisor any changes and adjustments in the Customer's requirement to ensure that the meat product produced is according to the customer’s specifications
Inventory recording and monitoring of meat cuts in-process and for dispatch
4. Ensures that all in-process meat products, packaging materials, tools, and supplies are available on time, with the right quality and quantity.
5. Ensures that all Live Hogs are accurately received in the system and Production material usages are system issued accordingly.
Meat Products Warehousing Management
6. Monitors the receipt of live hogs and dispatch of finished goods ensuring that the variance in all finished goods and in-process products inventory is within the allowable process loss.
7. Safekeeping of finished products and in-process meat products, and guarantees the implementation of First-In First-out system of Finished Goods.
8. Ensures that the standard temperature of Internal Meat Temperature (IMT) and cold storage is met at all times.
9. Ensures the cleanliness and orderliness of all cold storages are maintained at all times.
10. Coordinates with QA Department and Production Department on the quality status of finished goods ensuring that proper action is performed on non-conforming products returned items, items for condemnations. Ensures that all actions have gone through approval policies and process.
11. Coordinates with contractors on loading manpower requirements, schedules and equipment requirements of dispatch operations.
Dispatch of Finished Goods (Carcass, Meat Cuts, and Eggs)
12. Plans the logistical requirements and ensures timely delivery of Farm products in Luzon based on customer's orders.
13. Negotiates for best price and payment terms for local freight, trucking or forwarder rates to deliver yearly budget goals. Sets service level agreements and corresponding terms and Conditions for truckers or forwarders.
14. Verifies, reconciles and ensures billing documents of truckers or forwarders are complete and are in proper order to facilitate payment to a service provider. Also provides trucking details to Finance for month-end processing of accruals.
15. Identifies corrective action remedies for logistics-related customer complaints and coordinates with service providers and concerned departments concerns about delays, rejects and returns. Also provides associated feedback on the course of action to customers.
16. Coordinates with Customer Service Relation/Transport Supervisor for the carcass and meat delivery and trucking schedule.
17. Supervises and controls the transfer of carcasses and meat cuts to reefer vans, ensuring safe and hygienic handling of products, accuracy of quantity and timeliness of loading.
18. Monitors and controls the movement of finished goods documentation; all transactions are properly documented. Provides documentation on the daily receiving of live hogs (weight and quantity), dispatched report, In and Out of in-process products and aging inventory report.
19. Performs monthly actual inventory count of meat, packaging materials and other tools and supplies.
20. Secures renewal and Completion of Supplier Accreditation requirements on a yearly basis for services being handled.
21. Assesses the accredited suppliers' competence under annual Vendor Performance Evaluation Rating wherein compliance with service level agreements are being monitored and reviewed.
22. Provides supervision and technical expertise in warehousing support activities.
23. Prepares inventory and loading operations' standard reports.
24. Ensures compliance on the standard requirements of 5S, GMP, and HACCP.
Supervisory Responsibility
25. Generates required regular reports by Collecting, analyzing, calculating, compiling and summarizing information and presents to MANCOM.
26. Supervises and monitors the performance of Pilmico Logistics Team- Meats in all manners of the day-to-day operations to ensure that the team is able to accomplish and meet its deliverables on time.
27. Conducts performance appraisals as Scheduled and required. Identifies and recommends to Purchasing Manager developmental training needs of subordinates.
28. Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving the department's problems.
Other Tasks
29. Maintains historical information by filing waybills and related documents.
30. Ensures compliance of food safety based on the standard requirement of 5S, HACCP/GMP & ISO.
31. Performs related work as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor's degree holder in any business-related course.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least 5 years of experience in a transport or Warehouse Role
- At least 3 years in a customer service/ customer facing role
- At least 1 year as Supervisor
CRITICAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Computer literacy in data processing and company required software.
2. Knowledge in meats and eggs handling is an advantage.
3. Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
4. Planning and organizing skills.
