Job Description

  • Assists the General Manager and PRA Management in providing overall legal services to the Authority.
  • Assists the General Manager in providing legal advice and counsel on government policies and procedures, pertinent laws and rules and regulations, and other government practices affecting the Authority and its retirement program as well as its participating special resident retirees.
  • Assists the General Manager in preparing legal opinions on actual, anticipatory or hypothetical situations affecting or which may affect the Authority or its retirement program, its Board of Trustees, its Management and its special resident retirees.
  • Assists the General Manager in acting as Chief Legal representative of the Authority in all cases or litigations brought by or against it or before any court or administrative tribunal or body.
  • Assists the General Manager in preparing and formulating standard legal forms, contract, and documents of the Authority or review the same as may be necessary, consistent with legal requirements and policies and procedures.
  • Assists the General Manager in performing coordinative work and public relations with various government agencies or offices which in the exercise of their functions necessarily affect the entry, exit, stay and well-being of participating special resident retiree.
  • Assists the General Manager in compiling other related laws, local and foreign, affecting the Authority, its retirement program, and its retirees, resulting in the establishment of a legal bibliography and library.
  • Coordinates in investigations of administrative cases filed against personnel to the Authority, evaluate and act on reports of involvement of personnel in anomalies and/or irregularities in government transactions and perform other investigative work as may be assigned by the Management.
  • Performs other related functions as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor of Laws
  • Experience : 2 years relevant experience
  • Training : 8 hours of relevant training
  • Eligibility : RA 1080 (Bar)

The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) is a government owned and controlled corporation created by virtue of Executive Order No. 1037, signed by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos on 04 July 1985. On 31 August 2001, through Executive Order No. 26, the control and supervision of PRA was transferred to the Board of Investments (BOI) – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) from the Office of the President. On 12 May 2009, Republic Act No. 9593, otherwise known as Tourism Act 2009, PRA became an attached agency of the Department of Tourism and placed under the supervision of the Secretary. PRA is mandated to attract foreign nationals and former Filipino citizens to invest, reside and retire in the Philippines with the end view of accelerating the socio-economic development of the country contributing to the foreign currency reserve of the economy and by providing them the best quality of life in the most attractive package.
