Job Description
- Register and screen blood donors in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Gather demographic data and takes the medical history;
- Make an initial assessment of whether or not to accept/defer blood donors.
- Promote voluntary blood donation among clients (patients, relatives, etc.)
- Evaluate validity and completeness of information contained in blood request/s.
- Determine the quantity of blood to be served taking into consideration blood availability and urgency of the request.
- Maintain records on blood served and unserved including deferred donors.
- Monitor progress of activities related to a memorandum of agreement made with groups and indigent patients.
- Provide orientation and supervision to medical technology interns, trainees and volunteers assigned at the reception
- Assist in blood extraction as maybe required from time to time.
- Attend to clients in need of blood and blood products; answer calls and entertain queries
- Perform others duties as maybe assigned by Superiors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years work related experience
- Preferably with experience working in blood center
