Job Description

Stonestep is a growing insurtech company which provides new security to mass- and micro- customers via partners like mobile operators, mobile money providers, retailers, and others.

We are looking for a Talent Officer to design and drive our global talent management and development initiatives. You will work with local managers in Switzerland, Myanmar, Nepal, Malaysia and the Philippines to assist in all Talent-related initiatives. This role will grow as the company grows, with the potential to build your own team. You will need to bring a flexible, hard-working and positive attitude to the job, with a willingness to learn new things.

Ultimately, you will ensure our company attracts, hires, develops and retains qualified employees and foster a healthy workplace that helps us achieve our business objectives. You will also support the administrative processes necessary to successfully manage our team.

The position reports directly to the Chief Legal Counsel and provides a unique opportunity in an early-stage company to grow with an experienced team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist hiring managers to improve and implement a standard process that can be replicated across the company to drive recruitment. This will include producing job descriptions in a uniform tone of voice, organizing and assisting in the interview process, filtering and reviewing CVs of potential candidates, conduct interviews and produce notes about candidates, ensuring hiring managers are kept informed of all progress and can make informed hiring decisions
  • Managing all HR systems, including issuing approved paperwork for all employees or contractors, keeping accurate and up-to-date records, liaising with payroll to ensure timely payment
  • Plan regular employee performance evaluations
  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates and cost-per-hire)
  • Develop employee retention programs and team-building activities
  • Craft policies that support internal promotions
  • Create organizational charts and support the management in defining each position’s responsibilities
  • Perform benchmark research on compensation and benefits
  • Onboard new hires, and assist in developing an onboarding procedure

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Human Resources Management or Organizational Psychology or relevant field
  • Additional certification (e.g. CIPD or SPHR) is a plus
  • 3+ years in a similar role in aligned industry sector is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven work experience as a Talent Officer or similar role
  • Familiarity with performance management and relevant software
  • Knowledge of labor legislation in the Philippines, and willingness to get acquainted with aspects of labor regulations relevant to our global workforce
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources tools (e.g. Applicant Tracking Systems, Bamboo)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team spirit
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
