Financial Analyst  

This is an analyst-level position based out of Denver, Colorado reporting to the Founding Principal of Blues Sprue Management, LLC (“BSM”). BSM has two main functions, i) Valuation Services Business that creates financial models and reports to provide independent 3rd party reports, and ii) merchant consulting business that engages as Interim CEO and CFO of start-up and companies in transition. The firm intends to grow by performing merchant consulting for clients, as well executing venture capital and private equity deals and prudently building a valuable portfolio of operating companies over time.

The position is entrepreneurial in nature and the analyst will be responsible for analysis and research to support operations and deal execution for BSM Managment and its Clients’ Senior Management Teams and Boards of Directors. The role combines operations and transactional and blends a unique mix of valuations, consulting, operations, investing and banking. Focus will be on financial and operational analysis.

The candidate will help with the following projects: turn around troubled companies, help start-up companies right size and grow and provide analysis for Venture Capital, Private Equity, Development and Public Equity. The right candidate will become fluent in many disciplines including Consulting, Venture Capital, Private Equity and Investment Banking. The role will have opportunity to gain equity in the firm and to participate in deal economics.

Responsibilities

• Absorb and analyze information, thinking critically to provide meaningful insight and input into deals
• Financial modeling and advanced excel work
• Produce professional written and oral presentations to Board of Directors, Senior Management and Investors
• Write investment memorandums

• Legal review and analysis of contracts for due diligence and commercial purposes
• Produce professional written and oral presentations of information
• Help develop ideas for new business relationship and investment opportunities

• Excellent Microsoft excel skills, including ability to produce DCF, LBO and Operating Models
• Excellent business writing ability to create reports, like Confidential Information Memorandum,Valuation Reports and Reports for Boards of Directors
• Understanding of accounting concepts including, general ledger and charts of accounts
• Proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Powerpoint and other Microsoft Office Applications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• CPA, CFA or enrollment in CFA Institute curriculum
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
