Data Scientist

We are looking for an individual that will help us discover relevant information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better results. You will research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data and achieve targeted outcomes. Your primary focus will be in applying those data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products. This may include build recommendation systems, stock allocation, global/regional market trend analysis and prediction, etc.

Responsibilities

• Build product recognition systems using computer vision and NLP techniques.
• Build recommendation systems for stock allocation using machine learning technique
• Do data mining using state-of- the-art methods.
• Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Do ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, Physics, or in a similar field.
• At least 2 years of experience in project development using computer vision, image processing, and/or NLP.
• Experience working with retail/sales data is a plus.
• Proficiency with big data technologies (Hadoop, Apache Spark, etc.) is also a plus.
• Proficient in Python or R programming.
• Great communication skills.
• Strong skills in machine learning and statistics.
• Team player.
• Data-oriented personality.
• Able to use SQL, Pandas, R, or other similar tools for data analysis.
• Able to clean data and use data visualization tools such as d3.js, matplotlib, etc.
