The Company traces its beginnings to September 1993, when it was established as a single proprietorship known as P.A. Alvarez Realty. Its first residential subdivision project in San Pedro, Laguna – named after St. Joseph, the Worker – comprised 200 units that were completely sold in less than four months. In August 1994, the business was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as P.A. Alvarez Properties and Development Corporation, under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Romarico “Bing” T. Alvarez as President and Chief Executive Officer. Building on its initial success, the company continued to develop St. Joseph Villages in different locations within Laguna. As of 2011, it had completed 12,000 homes, with several more in the pipeline. Moving forward, the company is exploring new opportunities and capitalizing on strategic property sites that will draw on its strength and expertise not only in Laguna but also in areas closer to its target markets. Complementing these thrusts are the company’s effort to design more functional houses and to formulate better pricing packages, thus reinforcing its capability to meet the housing needs of the public at affordable rates and payment schemes. Thanks to solid working relationships with various banks and financial institutions, the company has been able to maintain a healthy financial profile, sustainable operations as well as better funding mechanisms for its buyers.
