Job Description

  • Read and interpret “For Construction” Plans and Technical Specifications
  • Familiarization with the Project’s design intent and criteria
  • Familiarization with intended delineation of works between different contractors
  • Familiarization with the deliverables from contractors, sub- contractors and suppliers
  • Timely and thorough evaluation of materials, equipment selections, shop drawings, methodologies submittals
  • Timely and accurate response to queries and clarifications raised by contractors and suppliers
  • Ensures to coordinate change/s on design with other trades
  • Constant coordination with the General Contractor’s MPF Manager/ Supervisor to ensure synchronized activities between all trades
  • Supervises implementation of MPF works to ensure installations are as per approved drawings and specifications, of good workmanship, and in compliance to codes and standards
  • Orients, trains and manages MPF Inspectors
  • Strictly monitors contractors’/ suppliers’ accomplishment and take necessary actions to ensure timely completion
  • Anticipates and prepares for potential site issues
  • Able to get contractors, suppliers and other team members to synchronized with the project’s objectives
  • Timely planning/ formulation of strategies for unforeseen issues that may arise
  • Attend/ coordinates with different local government agencies and ensure compliance to requirements for issuance of various required permits/ licences and connection of
  • Coordinate with supplier/ monitor production outputs for the timely delivery of OSM equipment/ materials
  • Attend to Testing and Commissioning activities and strictly monitor progress and results
  • Monitor and ensure all installations, materials, equipment and methodologies have approvals
  • Observant to compliance to safety, cleanliness and security of the work areas/ project site
  • Initiate and coordinate with suppliers/ contractors System Description and Operations and Maintenance Trainings for Facilities’ start-up/ hand- over team
  • Regularly and timely reporting of progress updates and site issues
  • Reports directly to Project/ Construction Manager, MPF Manager and VP- Projects regarding site status

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Mechanical Engineer
  • With at least 2 to 3 years experience in the building construction industry relating to mechanical engineering for building or similar structure
  • Strong drive to meet high-performance standards
  • Able to handle the pressure
  • Able to effectively communicate and relate with others
  • Ability to perform work requiring accuracy and attention to details
  • Able to present clear and factual reports
  • Able to use sound judgement in making independent decisions
  • Able to read and interpret project’s plans and specifications
  • Knowledge in construction safety
  • Knowledge of the different disciplines (Structural, Architectural, MEPF, etc.)
  • Knowledge in applicable codes and standards
