Job Description
General Purpose:
- Serviceability & Automation unit is in need of Software Engineers to support cloud-based automation solutions for Nokia Product and Services.
Main Responsibility Area:
- Overall responsibility (we work in Scrum) for creation and automation of platform and application component tests. The work may involve creation of new software as well as usage of 3rd party off-the-shelf software to modify and integrate them into the solution.
- Overall responsibility for coding platform and applications components. The work may involve creation of new software as well as usage of 3rd party off-the-shelf software products to modify and integrate them into the solution.
- Close co-operation with domain experts, solution architects, and delivery teams.
- Coaching and mentoring other team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experienced in IT operations:
- Advanced knowledge in Unix-based systems
- Knowledge of protocols, i.e. IP routing, SOAP & REST, WebSockets, DNS, LDAP, ODBC
- Database administration (e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
- Understanding of hardware and its impact on performance in cloud environment (e.g. networking, storage, CPU)
- Comfortable with application programming:
- Preferred Scala and Apache Spark framework
- Bonus points for Java and JavaScript
- Basic experience in:
- Docker and Mesosphere stack
- Continuous Integration (e.g. Jenkins, Git, Crucible/Fisheye)
- Installation automation framework (Ansible preferred)
- Bash and Python
- Cloud know-how of AWS REST APIs
- Use cases for distributed databases and K/V stores (e.g. for Cassandra, Redis, ElasticSearch HBase, CouchDB, Neo4J, Galera)
- Work in Scrum
- Domain knowledge in the following areas will be an advantage:
- Understanding of mobile broadband networks and related services (3G, 4G, network planning & optimization, care & troubleshooting)
- Basic understanding of Network Management Systems (NMS) and/or Element Management Systems (e.g. Nokia NetAct, Ericsson NetOp)
- Basic understanding of mobile networks architecture and protocols (e.g. handovers)
- Basic understanding of FCAPS model
