Job Description
- Plan, deliver, and teach a full curriculum/syllabus in data science, five days a week in-person class for 4 weeks (20 hours of teaching time per week) or teach two 3-hour part time classes per week for 8-11 weeks. There are also options for an intensive crash course for 1-2 weeks for our corporate clients depending on their demands and needs.
- Guide and mentor students through development of an impressive final project that will showcase their abilities to hiring managers and corporations.
- Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community both inside and outside of the classroom, in addition to labs and office hours.
- Assist operations to develop learning programs that ensure we provide the quality, most up-to-date, and best experience for our students.
- Work alongside NXTLVL team to attract business partnerships and corporations to hire students upon course completion as well as provide spending budgets for projects per class.
Minimum Qualifications
- You are eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of the newest generation of data scientists and analysts.
- You are an expert in SQL, Python and related Python libraries (pandas, numpy).
- You have fluency in the following topics: statistics; manipulation of large data sets; data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau, matplotlib; machine learning algorithms such as naive bayes, SVMs, decision trees, KNN, K-means clustering.
- Familiarity with python libraries NLTK and sci-kit learn, Hadoop, Apache Spark, JavaScript, D3.js; R; Basket-weaving.
- You are on top of big data trends and have previous data science and/or engineering teaching experience, through a course, team training, etc.
