Job Description
Manages timely, accurate and cost efficient transport of finished goods from the company’s various plants/warehouses to customers nationwide:
- Liaise with haulers and freight companies
- Rate/contract negotiations
- Management of total transport cost
- Cost analysis of transport modes/routes
- Ensure the operation meets its delivery targets
- Set up operation standards for haulers and monitoring performance
- Monitortruck requirements per facility to ensure right mix
- Manage staff of transport specialists
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills for planning schedules, journeys and loads
- Excellent financial management skills
- Can work under pressure
