- Able to drive and manoeuvre into loading and unloading position a 10-wheeler truck to transport finished goods and other materials to and from specified destinations.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that the truck is in proper working condition.
- Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Can perform emergency and basic repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, and spark plugs, and report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers and present bills and receipts, and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.
Minimum Qualifications
- Holder of a Professional Driver’s License with numbers 123 indicated on its Restriction Code.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Can read and follow written and verbal geographic directions
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
