Job Description
- Preparation and lodgement of Income Tax Returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS’s) and Installment Activity Statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.
- Preparation of Financial Statements, including Depreciation Schedules
- Preparation of CGT calculations
- Preparation of FBT calculations and salary packaging reviews.
- Bookkeeping data entry (eg Xero)
- Maintaining familiarity on Australian Tax and ensuring to have up-to-date knowledge on current relevant ATO legislation and issuances.
- Research and accurately interpret taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients
- Participate in external and internal training as required
- Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented and complies with the firms procedures and systems
- Maintain current and accurate files and record and date any actions and detailed file notes
- Prepare work flow reports for your own client work
- Other duties as requested
The Accounting Lead will manage a small team of Accountants (approx. 15-20 members) or Finance Officers:
- Assisting with recruitment, including testing applicant’s skills
- Assisting in the preparation of Key Performance Indicators
- Assisting in the preparation of Training Plans and training staff members
- Providing on-the-job guidance to junior employees by assisting them through a Training Plan
- This person will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Team
- Setting tasks for junior employees
- Checking the quality junior employees work
- Rating performance of employees against Key Performance Indicators
- Perform staff monthly coaching and build Staff PDP with clients.
- Create relationship with clients and staff and provide regular updates and reporting.
- Handle escalations within the team and take necessary actions to address issues
Minimum Qualifications
TARGET START DATE : JANUARY - FEBRUARY 2020
- Graduate of BS Accountancy or any related field
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the same role/capacity
- Experienced accountant with working knowledge of Xero, BAS, IAS and AU Tax
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Confidence to advise clients based on sound knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn, show initiative and be a positive “team player”
- Positive and happy attitude
- Highest standard of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism
- Excellent time management skills
