Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Controller as required regarding the functionality of the Finance, Payroll and Accounting Department
  • Contribute to month end processing including payroll costing, prepayments, accruals, allocations and adjustment journals
  • Facilitate the accurate processing and calculation of consultants commissions
  • Preparation and submission of Australian and New Zealand Business Statistics Surveys
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) for the Group per the agreed month end timetable
  • Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts & completion of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Prepare other local tax/levy returns for the client as requested.
  • Assist with tax work-papers on an ongoing basis throughout the year
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly & year-end reporting, audit and compliance
  • Assist with the year-end reporting, audit and compliance for the client
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and forecast process as required by the client
  • Assist and contribute to the mentoring and training of the finance team in best practice accounting methods
  • Assist to develop and drive process improvement strategies within finance and across the business
  • Build a strong relationship with all branch managers to ensure they have all relevant financial information to run their business.
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the Financial Controller and CFO.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and reporting under instruction from manager
  • Ability to use financial/General Ledger software (SAGE)
  • Previous experience with Australian Business Activity Statements (BAS) i.e. GST, PAYG installments WHT etc
  • Proficient in the application of accounting standards
  • Ability to converse with internal employees at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral English
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to complete tasks even when repetitive,
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written), can identify issues and communicate them, organized, positive attitude, acknowledges mistakes and learns from them,
  • Ability to seek guidance and advice when required
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word expertise, ability to learn other applications.
