Job Description

  • General Accounting:
    • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
    • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Coordinate the preparation of budget forecasts, variance analysis, and cash flow projections. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial performance metrics.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with Philippine tax regulations and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants as needed. Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
    • Ensure accurate calculation, deduction, and remittance of withholding taxes on payments to vendors, contractors, and employees.
    • Prepare and file all required tax returns, including withholding tax reports, on a timely basis.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the agency’s tax practices are compliant.
    • Maintain compliant documentation for all tax-related activities, including certificates, receipts, and audit trails.
  • Supervision and Process Improvement:
    • Lead a team of accounting administration and administration staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high performance and professional development.
    • Coordinate with external agencies for accounting and taxation compliances as needed.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems. Implement changes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. Maintain internal control safeguards to protect company assets and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    • Quality control all accounting documentation and ensure compliance with accounting processes and BIR requirements.
  • Audit and Reconciliation Coordination:
    • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits. Ensure audit queries and reconciliation discrepancies are resolved promptly and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
    • Take responsibility for overseeing the reconciliation of accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
  • Vendor & Client Management:
    • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies.
    • Oversee client billing processes, including invoicing and collections, to ensure timely receipt of payments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with CPA certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare clear and accurate reports.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Experience in a creative or design-focused industry is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
