Job Description
- Confers with immediate superior on instructions received, validating understanding and making clarifications to make sure shop drawings are in conformity with directives and instructions.
- Coordinates with engineers, architects and other professionals in the project site to get more details of specific instruction, provides suggestions to facilitate tasks and help ensure drawing accuracy thereof.
- Prepares shop and as-built drawings upon receipt of instructions directly from the immediate superior and utilizing the CAD systems and appropriate computer software.
- Works from drawings by utilizing sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings or specifications to facilitate precision.
- Makes use of specialized notations and symbols in the shop drawing to convey instructions about materials, assembly procedures or tools using specific computer software and application.
- Takes actual measurements by visiting building/project sites to collect data and take photos to facilitate accurateness.
- Reviews data received from engineers and technicians to ensure conformity to design plans.
- Prepares submittals by having the drawings reviewed and approved by the immediate superior and other concerned officers to ensure congruency in design.
- Identifies dissemblance, if any, by submitting Request for Information (RFI) to resolve incongruity.
- Performs other functions which may be required by the immediate superior from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- With at least three years of undergraduate study of Bachelor of Science in Architecture or Civil Engineering
- Knowledgeable in manual and computer aided design drafting (CADD) software, Sketch-up, Renderings, Photoshop, etc
- With at least one and a half (1 1/2) years of work experience in similar work environment
