Software Engineer in Test (SET) (or SET Lead)  

What would you be doing

• 1st month? Meet the team and get familiar with projects, visions, and strategies.
• 2nd month? Ramp-up activities like code review and unit/integration/acceptance testing to improve product quality
• 3rd month? All of the above, plus start getting knee deep with key projects QA activities, such as:
  • An automated video analyzer well beyond providing insights (AI anyone?)
  • An automated channel growth predictor (big data challenges at their best)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Architect,implement and integrate Test framework with CI for automated testing.
• Implement test automation for web applications, which may be using PHP, Python, Node.js, AngularJS, Vue.js
• Perform quality assurance which include the following tasks and more
  • Conduct Manual, Functional, Regression, and UI/UX tests
  • Develop Test Automations for API, Integration, Smoke, Load, and Performance tests
  • Establish QA reporting including test coverage, execution status, and trends for automated tests
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to
  • Recognize incomplete or missing areas of specifications and work together to address them
  • Review specification for testability, highlight and propose design considerations that will make the system easier to test via automation and to expand test coverage
  • Evangelize automation and assist other Development team members through mentorship, tutorials, and writing scripts to speed up their manual testing efforts.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, professional experience working as a test engineer

• 3+ years experience testing web applications, Microservices systems in a formal QA work environment

• Passionate about software testing with key ability to think critically to identify software issues and corner cases

• Work experience in an Agile environment to for quality assurance & releases

• Ability to juggle conflicting / changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude while experiencing challenging and dynamic schedules

• Knowledge of modern open source QA toolsets such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, Mocha and cloud-based tools like AWS Device Farm

• Basic knowledge of PHP, JavaScript (Node.js), SQL and NoSQL queries

• Understanding of REST APIs and Web Services, JSON and XML data formats

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with a variety of the following: PHP & Laravel, Python & Flask, Node.js, Linux/Ubuntu, AWS, Vue.js, Angular, React, TypeScript, MySql, MongoDB, DevOps, Agile, Scrum

• Experience with Jenkins or similar build/CI Systems and CD systems with Cloud Deployment

• Knowledge of API management principles / trends / platforms

• Experience with QA tools and applications (JIRA, YouTrack, TestRails, etc)

• With hands-on experience in virtualization technologies (OpenStack, Vagrant, Docker, AWS, Google Cloud)
