Job Description
In line with Masungi Georeserve's advocacy to create arguments for the area's conservation and to increase general knowledge and understanding of our local earth heritage, the organization is looking for a paleontologist to engage on a field project. The paleontologist will be in charge of building on current geological knowledge of the place in the area of paleontology. He/she will be in charge of and conducting the following:
- Fieldwork search for Paleocene/Cretaceous period (invertebrate, plant microscopic) fossils within the Masungi Georeserve
- Identification, research on, and tagging of located fossils
The information will be used for the following:
- Along with the communications officer and the learning and development officer, for the creation of educational materials to be used as reference by the general public. This will cover key points of paleontology in the Philippines as well as research specific to Masungi Georeserve.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or doctoral degree in paleontology is preferred
- Masungi Georeserve is open to exploring project-based hiring, research proposals, and/or third party organisation proposal for the said role.
