Job Description

Accurate and timely management reports and analysis

  • Ensures integrity and accuracy of accounting books of MWAP and its subsidiaries, and provides analysis on impact of business decisions to financial reports.
  • Monitors financial results (i.e. Investment Performance, EBITDA, Net Income) and provides variance and trend analysis.
  • Notifies and reports to senior management any issues critical to the organization's financial performance.
  • Participates in the annual budget exercise of the Group, recommends cost-saving initiatives.

Daily review of financial transactions to ensure alignment with approved budget

  • Oversees day-to-day activities of the accounting operations, and provides guidance to staff on how to carry out the monthly financial closing
  • Ensures proper recording and accounting take up of all transactions of the company, and analyze and reconcile accounting entries
  • Applies management directives and handles coordination with other departments to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Provides guidance in navigating the accounting system to ensure integrity of the accounting entries.

100% compliance with government agencies’ requirements on financial reporting requirements

  • Provides technical guidance in the financial evaluation of existing and new accounting principles, standards, taxation rules and regulations
  • Manages all audit activities by the Head Office and external agencies in Singapore
  • Oversees the entire audit process and liaises with auditors in Head Office and in Singapore
  • Gives direction to team members
  • Reviews and addresses audit findings
  • Recommends actions to improve reports and processes
  • Coordinates with tax consultants to ensure timely filing of income tax returns and applicable attachments
  • Provides support with financial reporting requirements in other countries where MWAP operates/invests in.

Ensure business unit has 100% approved policies and procedures and ensure its compliance for all standard processes

  • Evaluates existing policies, financial reporting system, accounting procedures and investment activities, and makes recommendations to improve processes.
  • Develops and implements controls of new and/or critical processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Accountancy, with MBA an advantage.
  • Must have at least 5 years related work experience with at least 3 years managerial experience in Accounting.
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
  • Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Computer-literate (MS Office and other Accounting Systems); Oracle NetSuite knowledge an advantage
  • Can work 100% remotely/WFH or can work alternately between home and office.

Building on its success in the East Zone of Metro Manila, Manila Water is pursuing strategic partnerships in order to leverage its position in the markets covered by key metropolitan areas in the Philippines. The company is exploring potential projects in both water and environmental services. Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV) was designated as the vehicle for expansion within the Philippines.
