Job Description

Management/ Fund Management

  • Maintains accounting policies and procedures and recommends changes for improvement
  • Maintains and grows banking relationships
  • Ensures that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements of all of MHA departments
  • Oversees the day to day operation of the accounting department

Financial Reporting

  • Generates periodic financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) & other accounting related reports e.g. Accounts receivable Aging report, Expense Analysis, accounts Payable, break even analysis reports, Cash Flow, Inventory Related reports, Annual Budget and other accounting related reports that may be requested by Execom from time to time

Accounting Reports Analysis

  • Interprets the company’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities
  • Engages in ongoing cost reduction analysis in all areas of the company
  • Creates additional analysis and reports as requested by the management
  • Ensure that existing IT and accounting software used by department and whole organization is fully implemented and maximized to its full capacity. Coordinates and works with the software provider to Ensure that this system is effective and working.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with top management, the result of the organization’s operations and financial condition thru various accounting & finance related reports for strategic decisions on areas of concerns or issues.
  • Reviews the financial analysis & reports prepared by the Department’s team by comparing previous data and against budget to highlight areas requiring more detailed review and explanation.
  • Leads the organization in the annual preparation of the budget and planning process by conducting series of meetings and workshops to finish the process on time.
  • Takes initiatives to review and update existing internal control mechanism in response to the changing needs.
  • Reviews and updated annually the Company's Accounting Manual consisting of several accounting policies
  • Works and cooperates with other department heads of the organization to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Makes sure that the department is in full compliance with the requirements of the organization’s system by random checks and validation procedures for accuracy and reliability.
  • Closely coordinates with external entities, e.g. external auditors, lawyers, etc. for possible cases requiring legal actions and litigation to protect organization’s interest.
  • Creates a working atmosphere within the department that is conducive to work excellence by engaging team members and providing guidance and mentoring to enhance competencies.
  • Updates oneself with the latest accounting & management trends and development by subscribing to relevant and attendance to conferences/conventions.
  • Represents the organization in meetings, conventions and other official functions with banks, funding agencies, govt offices/agencies, judiciary courts, etc. if needed.
  • Performs other task and functions which may be required of the position by the immediate superior and Execom from time to time.

  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Adept with the latest technology related to Accounting and Finance
  • Knowledge on franchise systems
  • Job Specifications:
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelors/College Degree in Accountancy; C.P.A holder
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in Retail, Business Services, Healthcare,
  • Strong understanding of accounting software’s and its variations
  • Excellent in oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
  • Observes high-level of confidentiality and integrity
