Job Description

  • Commissary employees are responsible for the preparation,portioning and packaging of all food items that are needed to support the branches of Mama Lou's Group.
  • A team players and be able to accurately and efficiently follow daily production and task lists and follow all safe food handling policies and procedures.
  • Prepare all necessary raw materials according to recipes and business needs
  • Cut and prepare necessary vegetables and ingredients.
  • Assists our cooks with food preparation
  • Utilizes kitchen tools and equipment safely
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
  • Interacts with fellow kitchen staff and chef
  • Label packages
  • Duties may include: chopping, slicing and dividing fresh foods; mixing, portioning and packing dough for baked goods; prepping and assembling; organizing food transfers; light cleaning; sourcing of food and equipment, as needed.
  • Able to lift and carry loads up to 30 pounds
  • All other job duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Specialist

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least High School Graduate or
  • Completed at least 2 years college education or vocational course
  • Physically Fit To work
  • Willing to work extended hours
  • Willing to work on night shift ( if necessary)
  • College Degree/Units in HRM/NCII is an advantage but not a requirement
  • Basic Food Safety Knowledge is REQUIRED
  • Basic Food Safety Certification is an Advantage
  • Prior food service experiene is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • friendly, production-oriented team player
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Able to read simple production lists and weigh, measure and pack items with high levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to work well within a team, with daily deadlines.
  • Ability to accept feedback and guidance, and seek guidance when needed.
  • Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
  • Desire and ability to learn and do tasks as assigned.
  • Fresh Graduates are encourage to apply but having at least 6 months of exprience with Commissary work (batch cooking) & production is an advantage.
