Job Description

Position Summary

This is a senior role, responsible for identifying and implementing content creation strategies that align to business goals for the clients we handle. The role will manage all aspects of our clients social marketing campaigns: this includes planning, strategising and managing the publishing calendar, social objectives, messaging, taking photos, writing posts, and in some aspects, creating the visual images for these posts. You will work with a creative team so people management is MUST KEY skill.

Essential Functions

Strategy

  • Understand the clients business fully - in terms of marketing need and in terms of how they make money, who their consumers are and what makes these clients and their consumers tick. How do you transfer these to digital is a must.
  • Offer logical thinking – exceed expectation by giving clear insights into how we can solve their problems through digital strategies. Offer our ways of applying the technology and communication techniques you know of to arrive at clear solutions to complex problems.
  • Offer expertise – understand WHY what we do is effective and vocalise this clearly to a client. Explain that our strategic approach works and has been proven historically. Give the bigger picture.

Paid Distribution

  • Drive integrated process and thinking across client teams, strategy and product areas
  • Maintain an expert level understanding of social ad specs, new/beta features, and best practices for executing complex social ad campaigns.
  • Understand and effectively communicate value proposition, technology, processes, and partnerships as they relate to the growth of current and prospective client accounts
  • Understand social media and digital category-specific landscapes and trends, and their impact; report on the macro and micro forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Leverage and expand existing knowledge of the digital media industry including developing innovations in mobile, social, and emerging media

Creativity

  • Ideas inspired by insight.
  • Nimble thinking – new ideas that feel fresh and innovative in how we use social media.
  • Problem solving – nimble solutions for complex problems.
  • Offer inspiration – give new ideas when they’re not even asked for. Suggest sites, books, ideas the client should know about and inspire your team with new thinking everyday.

Delivery

  • Know what the client needs before they know themselves. Thinking in 3, 6 and 12 month bursts. Plan ahead and see the opportunities for our existing or potential new clients before anybody else does.
  • Team management – keep the rest of the team informed, excited an up to speed too. Share best practice and bright thinking as broadly as possible.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of social media marketing and/or content development experience.
  • Editorial experience or knowledge.
  • Undergraduate degree required; concentration in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism or related communications field is preferred.
  • Expert understanding of social media space with hands-on experience with online communities and social account management in a professional capacity.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to successfully interact directly with customers and members of the community in a public forum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with all levels within the company.
  • Effective time and project management skills, with ability to organize and prioritize efficiently.
  • Highly creative and self-motivated, with strong conceptual and decision making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Wordpress.
  • Knowledge of social publishing and analytics tools including Simply Measured, AgoraPulse, Shoutlet, Insights, will be a plus.
