Job Description
- Evaluates competitive price quotations to determine the overall best proposal for a product or services.
- Conducts negotiations with potential suppliers to obtain agreement on specifications pricing, delivery schedules and other terms subject to prior approval of end users and Purchasing Head.
- Expedite deliveries and conducts follow up procedures when necessary.
- Prepares and issues a purchase order.
- Reviews product specification, performance, terms and / or acceptance criteria.
- Conducts value engineering for effective and efficient procurement if necessary.
- Prepares quotations and coordinates with suppliers and operations Group re: bid schedules.
- Carry out other activities that may be assigned by the Immediate Supervisor within the overall functions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field preferred
- Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems
- Two years previous experience as purchasing officer, manager, or related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
