Job Description
Maintains a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. Performs all stages of linen processing – including collecting, sorting, weighing, transporting, ironing, folding, storing and delivering. Counts and records laundry statistics for laundry inventories.
General Responsibilities:
- Empty the laundry chute and pre-sort and separate linen by classification into carts to make ready for a wash
- Sort guestroom linen that comes in linen chute into various bags to exact weight and secure them for processing
- Clean out empty carts and maintain a clean workspace
- Inventorying all linens, identifying stained or damaged items and determining status for repair or discard
- Attends Departmental meetings and daily briefings
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship beyond high school
- Experience: Prior hospitality experience preferred
- Qualifications: Able to cope with the physical demands of the job – lifting, carrying and bending are involved; Recognize colors and sizes, count accurately; understands basic English language both written and oral
