Banquet Waiter/Waitress | 5 Star Hotel - Makati | LHH  

JOB SUMMARY : Helps the wait staff and bartenders improve the dining experience for guests. They play a crucial part in a restaurant, performing a range of duties including assisting guests with orders, taking feedback, and preparing table set-ups.

FOOD AND SERVICE

• Checks the assigned function's Banquet Event Sheet
  • Waiter knows the assigned function’s food and beverage arrangement
• Checks daily specials, out of stock items, others
  • For a la carte arrangements, waiter knows the daily specials, and which items are not available
  • Waiter is able to answer questions regarding any banquet package or ongoing food/hotel promotion (without asking superior or co-employees)
• Prepares and stocks the service station
  • Supplies are replenished as needed
  • Coffee / tea / hot water supply is available at all times, depending on volume of function
• Sets up tables
  • Tables are stable, not wobbly
  • Linens are well-pressed, without stain/holes
• Sets up the function room
  • AV & other requirements are set up and ready at least one (1) hour prior to start of function
  • Overall room layout conforms to organizer requirements
• Sets up the buffet table
  • Clean (washed, no food stains, oil marks) crumple and skirting
  • Food platters are set up prior to service plates
  • Saucers are placed underneath chafing dishes
  • Buffet tags / labels are correct (corresponding to food items), with description and are clean without creases
  • Accompaniments and sauces are placed beside the appropriate item
  • Each item has its own serving spoon/ fork or service tong
  • Skyline arrangement applied to salads/desserts
  • Fire hazards (i.e. linen) are set up away from burners
• Banquet Service Performance
  • Guests are welcomed and greeted as they enter the function room and are ushered to table/seating arrangement if applicable
  • Offers/Serves Beverages; also applies beverage upselling techniques
  • Presents and Takes the menu for events without pre-set meals
  • Places and Picks up the order
  • Serves and monitors meal progress
  • Present and collects the bills payment
• Guest Relations
  • Building rapport with the guests
  • Returns/Surrenders items left behind by guests
• Function Room wrap up
  • Cleans up the function room
  • Clears the buffet table

JOB SPECIFICATION
Education : at least 2nd year college level or Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management
Work : Must have at least 2 years of experience in a Branded Hotel or Restaurant
Pre-requisites : Outstanding communication and people skills; ability to stay professional in a stressful work environment; complaint handling skills; superb multitasking skills; available to work different hours including weekends, days and nights

Location : Willing to be assigned in Makati
