Job Description
What are you going to do?
As a Database Administrator, you are responsible in a team for performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and data recovery of our cloud-based database environments. You provide capacity planning, evaluate the database performance and manage all aspects of the databases, including configuration, design, uptime, resources, security, and data migration. In addition, you will be involved in challenging projects where your database knowledge will come in handy. We expect you to be a flexible T-shaped engineer where you also work on non DBA related to tasks such as Linux maintenance, AWS DevOps, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration of databases, maintenance and monitoring
- Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary
- Monitoring user access and security, Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
- Evaluates, troubleshoot, and recommends solutions on problems encountered with the system
- Monitor resource utilization to ensure client response time meets expected SLAs and help ensure uninterrupted system availability
- Manage, establish and recommend status reporting tools
- Assist the data scientist in the development of new analytical tools and methods as and when required
- Assist Disaster Recovery Team in planning, documenting, coordinating, and executing all disaster recovery testing
- Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a DBA in complex environments at least for 5 years
- Demonstrable knowledge of and/or experience with MySQL database 5.7 and up, Redis 6.2.5, and MongoDB 5.0, AWS Aurora, RDS, Elastic Cache, MongoDB(Atlas).
- Experience in performance tuning
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Unix and Linux
- Able to see challenge in complex matters
- You communicate just as easily in English
- You are analytical, flexible, communicative, and driven
