Job Description
- Perform organizational tasks in support of the business to include, but not limited to the following tasks:
- Manage database backups by determining and implementing appropriate strategies based on the RPO and RTO of critical business areas.
- Develop and maintain tasks such as creating SSIS packages, .NET Script tasks, Agent Jobs, Stored Procedures, Views, and User Defined Functions.
- Periodically test backups in UAT and Dev to ensure database recoverability.
- Run DBCC integrity checks and analyze results to identify areas to be addressed.
- Maintain statistics and indexes on Non Partitioned and Partitioned tables during daily and weekly maintenance windows.
- Review SQL Server Error, SQL Agent, Database Mail, and Windows Events longs daily to identify issues.
- Monitor and maintain Transactional Replication for Micro Strategy Reporting Databases.
- Monitor database performance using Red Gate SQL Monitor, SQL DMV’s, Windows Performance Monitor, Extended Events and Execution Plans to find and fix performances issues.
- Create and maintain process documents for databases changes, job schedules and deployments.
- Create and test disaster recovery plans including implementation of SQL HA\DR using WFCS, Availability Groups and Always On technologies.
- Technical expert in the design, implementation and deployment-phases of a DB infrastructure product, an DB infrastructure solution or cloud service
- Manage security roles and users.
- Maintain SQL database objects using TFS and familiarity with SDLC.
- Partners with network team to assist, troubleshoot and configure Server, VM and FTP setup.
- Incumbent will be responsible for meeting RoundPoint’s commitment to PII security compliance.
- Financial and/or Mortgage industry expertise preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with the SQL query language, preferably Microsoft T-SQL
- Experience setting up monitoring/trending of database environments
- Experience supporting databases in an agile web based, 24X7X365 internet/web environment
- Understanding of networking and troubleshooting including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
- Strong communication skills (including ability to probe deeply into business issues during exploratory and fact finding calls/discussions).
