Job Description

Our office works with a number of investment groups— associations, clubs, etc.

Your mission will be to assist board directors and trustees in accomplishing their respective missions. A Trustee or Director may chair an investment screening committee, for example. Your mission, then, would be to assist the chair-person in achieving that committee’s objectives.

You must be generally tech savvy, able to multi-task, and manage a plethora of on-going projects and tasks— and yet be able to follow those workloads through to completion. On a smaller scale, you will have projects to manage on your own— a small event at an office here or there, for example.

You must be able to navigate through a variety of social circumstances with c-level types— corporate outings, charity events, startup community events, trade association conferences, etc. Throughout, you must be a clear communicator and an authoritative personality, able to deliver and relay messages to outside groups on behalf of the club.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College graduate.
  • Able to navigate through the wide variety of social networks that c-level types occupy:
    • Ivy League alumni networks
    • Business/trade association networks
    • Recreation and leisure clubs, etc.
  • A professional that can execute well, with a masterful eye for detail.
  • Understands that design is more of a matter of function and utility than it is purely a hedonistic superficiality. Yet, highly fashionable— stylish.
  • Concomitantly a voracious reader and likely able to socialize yourself by frequenting the Economist, Foreign Affairs, Harvard Business Review, etc.
  • Doer.
  • Problem-solver [creative solutions!]
  • Has initiative.
  • Doesn't like excuses and people that don’t own up to their own mistakes. Though you appreciate the utility of “downtime,” unproductive days irk you most.

You will be required to provide relevant references to vouch for your purported character, skills, aptitudes, etc.

Interview and application process (about 3 weeks):

  • Apply online and upload relevant supporting docs.
  • Interview online via email and messages at first, then a video call or phone call.
  • Interview at the office and meet with a prospect supervisor.
  • Follow-up meeting either at the office or remotely (over the phone or online), discuss potential challenges to long-term work with our office, and discuss prospective projects and tasks.
  • Application determination - job offer or decline applicant.
