Finance Director  

Working alongside the Managing Director, the Finance Director is not only an exceptional accountant, hands on with company finances but must be commercially aware, advising on the best path of growth for the business.

The role of the Finance Director has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy. The FD is expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on the findings with the most profitable outcomes.

Managing and leading a team through tight deadlines including month-end, year-end and annual budgeting, the Group Finance Director must have excellent communication and persuasion skills with all levels of staff, often having to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets.

In periods of change and fast growth, an effective Finance Director is critical, coordinating corporate finance, managing company policies regarding capital requirements, risk exposures, debt, taxation, equity, expansion and acquisitions as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analysing the group’s financial reports, flagging issues to the Managing Director
• Work with senior teams to grow the businesses by assisting them in formulating financial strategies and plans
• Lead and develop finance teams
• Lead and manage the budgeting process
• Overall cash management on an ongoing basis, including Treasury matters
• Formulation of annual budgets and targets
• Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including sound audit systems
• Preparation and submission of monthly and annual accounts with recommendations
• Review of accounts and investigation of variances then setting recovery plans
• Submission, evaluation and monitoring of CAPEX budgets
• Insurance/risk management
• Reviewing and setting annual cost rates and recommending prices
• Close involvement in commercial negotiations with malls and vendors
• Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
• Others – special projects from the Managing Director
