Job Description
- Have an extremely hands-on attitude - you must be willing and able to dive deeply into the company platform and external tools integrated with the platform – and become a product expert in it.
- Work closely with our Product Owner to understand the product roadmap and all upcoming features, bugs, and product enhancements.
- Hack out solutions and quick wins with an obsession to learn and try out new technologies and processes
- Turn the understanding of new product updates/business requirements into written specs for developers to implement.
- Define and analyze key metrics / KPIs that inform the success of our products.
- Work closely with customer service to understand the biggest customer issues and feature requests and help to determine which updates to prioritize.
- Discuss and update product specs with developers and quality assurance to ensure the specs are clear and understandable.
- Set deadlines with software developers and quality assurance to get product updates to production by agreed-upon deadlines.
- Use appropriate tools to track product development and project management.
- Drive software developers and quality assurance to meet agreed-upon deadlines; when deadlines are not met, dig deeply and run root cause analyses to understand why; and find ways to improve meeting of deadlines.
- Lead daily standup meetings, have multiple weekly touchpoints with members of the tech team and track progress and success of tech team members on an individual and team basis.
- Do all of the above with team members in multiple locations, spanning across the globe (from South America to Asia).
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience working in project management and product management for a web software product.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in English.
- Works well under pressure; has the ability to work within stringent timelines and to collaborate across departments to achieve results.
- Must be a true problem solver with outstanding skills in discovery techniques and the ability to translate underlying business needs into actionable items.
- A strong focus on detail, with the ability to ensure data and related reports are thorough and reliable.
- An enthusiasm for learning and working with new tools and technologies is essential; must have the ability and passion to recommend the right tools, dive deeply into them, and learn them as autonomously as possible.
- Ideally has a technical or engineering background.
- Experience turning business requirements into written specs for software developers to implement, while at the same time having the judgment to not overdo specs.
- Experience driving software engineers to appropriately set and meet deadlines.
- Experience using charts and project management tools to analyze development throughput, find optimization points and improve throughout.
- Experience using Github, especially for issue and project management, is a huge plus.
