Job Description
Ookbee started out in 2012 as a start-up in Thailand focusing on developing eBook stores across Southeast Asia with presence in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Malaysia with more than 5 million customers in the region. Most of the eBooks are from renowed publishers or independent authors who are Professionals, hence the eBooks are categorized as Professionally Generated Contents. When Social Media became more influencial to people’s lifestyle, Ookbee saw an opportunity to create platforms catered to groups of people with common interest such as novel fans, comic lovers, music enthuiast, etc. to accommodate User Generated Contents (UGC) and establish sustainable economy between content creators and their fans. The UGC platforms are later spun off and expanded under Ookbee U which is an entity co-invested by Ookbee and Tencent. Ookbee and Ookbee U together serve more than 10 million users.
Job Description:
- Work with Thailand HQ team to define Indonesia's strategy with short, medium, long term goals.
- Execute company’s strategy and operations to ensure growth in both users and revenue and achievement of objectives across the country.
- Strengthen user relationships with our products.
- Identify new partners and opportunities to increase performance and revenue.
- Recruit and develop a team of experts in Indonesia across different functions.
- Be responsible for Indonesia’s P&L.
- Continually assess the market’s progress, KPIs and communicate performance to the management team (Thailand HQ) on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master or bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in business development and team management preferably with background in digital product management.
- Experience in running the user acquisition team would be a huge plus.
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to measure the performance of user acquisition campaigns and try to optimize that performance to yield the greatest ROI.
- Be able to work for startup company. Experience in new business set up preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally across time zones, and in a team and/ or matrixed environment.
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong project management skills, a sense of urgency and a goal-driven attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal planning and organization skills to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and balance competing priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Advanced fluency in English is required as there would be frequent communication with the management team in Thailand HQ.
