Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assists in the discovery, design, development, deployment and maintenance of software applications to meet user and business needs
- Develop, test and maintain in-house developed applications written in PowerBuilder
- Assists in the documentation of functional and technical specifications and in creation of user’s manual for in-house developed applications
- Helps in the implementation of systems developed in-house and those that are outsourced and purchased
- Trains and assists end users in using the system for their respective functions
- Assist in the designing of user interface and database tables
- Assist in documenting the user’s manual, procedures for installation
- Coordinate with internal and external partners on system integration activities
- Daily
- Programming, Testing and Debugging of in-house developed application systems making sure that they conform to user specifications
- Conducts system-wide tests, provide customer and user technical support, and monitor system performance to ensure that software programs are operating in accordance to user specifications
- Ensures that system enhancements are documented by logging all the changes in the change management document for respective application
- Weekly
- Reports to the immediate superior weekly accomplishments and project status
- Share to peers newly discovered techniques pertaining to programming, database scripting and other know-how pertaining to technology and implementations.
- Intermittent
- Performs technology research and develop prototypes to implement new concepts that can be utilized and realize into business benefits.
- Writes and compiles database queries required for ad hoc reports
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced skills in PowerBuilder particularly with version 11.5 or above
- Thoroughly understand PowerBuilder objects and scripts, deep and complex inheritance structures, non-visual and DataWindow objects.
- Highly knowledgeable in SQL Server, creating stored procedure and advanced TSQL scripts.
- Knowledgeable with PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation classes) or Advance GUI controls framework
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
