Job Description

The Content Writer will create content across multiple platforms and formats. The goal is to increase website traffic, drive engagement, qualified lead generation, customer retention, and other positive client-related results. The position will help tell our brand story, with the mindset of helping customers through content that answers their questions.

The right candidate will have the heart of a teacher, with a love of learning, writing, and communicating in all forms. They must be able to analyze performance of their work, find ways to improve their craft and be inquisitive in nature. They see the value of every person on our team, empower them to tell their stories to our audience and believe in creating a culture of content.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write and help maintain content for ITS’ website, marketing materials, etc.
  • Interview colleagues and create quality content out of it
  • Write technical articles in such a way that even non-technical people will easily understand and feel engaged
  • Experience in writing articles and blogs is required
  • Interest and knowledge in technology is a plus
  • Journalism background is a big advantage
  • Can write a 1000-word article per day

Minimum Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field.
  • Writing and editorial skills, with outstanding command of the English language.
  • An understanding of common editorial style guides, eg. AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
  • Training as a print or broadcast journalist is a bonus. Great at telling a story using words, images, or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience.
  • The ability of think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
  • A passion for new technology tools and usage of those tools within your own blogs and social media outreach.
  • Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content.
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns.
  • Familiarity with principles of marketing.
  • Incredible people skills.
  • Needs to be continually learning the latest platforms, technology tools and marketing solutions through partnerships.
  • Able to screen out sales pitches and look for the relevant brand and customer story.

Requirements:

  • A home office set up that meets the following:
  • A working computer (minimum 8gb RAM), i5 Windows10 or BigSur for Mac
  • Stable internet connection (at least 5mbps download and upload)
  • HD webcam/camera
  • A quality headset with noise cancellation feature for meetings
  • A mobile phone that has the capacity to install the Microsoft Authentication app
  • A very strong cultural fit the ITS way (Our core values will be discussed during the interview)
  • Excellent command of the English language both spoken and written
  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week - 1PM to 10PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) from Monday to Friday.
  • Able to pass our online behavior and cognitive assessments.
  • Able to provide NBI Clearance (eventually)
  • Must be able to provide their portfolio/project/work
