Job Description
The Finance and Accounting Manager will do the following:
PLANNING
- Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions in formulating company’s future direction
- Conduct meaningful proactive analysis to improve the financial decisions and stability of the organization
- Develop financial and tax strategies
- Establish internal control processes required to manage and grow the organization
- Manage the annual budget process, monitoring and monthly reporting
OPERATIONS
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
- Implement operational best practices
- Oversee the financial operations of the organization
- Ensures efficient capital expenditures for the organization
- Ensure controls are in place- that receipts and disbursements are strictly within the standards of Accounting procedures set by the organization
- Procurement and expenses are within the approved budget
- Structure, negotiate, and finalize purchase agreements
- Ensure that billing and collections are on time
- Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefit package
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
- Ensure that the Financial statements/reports are accurately presented and submitted on time
- Report financial results to the board of directors
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the organization
- Construct and monitor reliable control systems
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
- Report risk issues to the CEO and Board of Directors
- Maintain relationships with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Must be a CPA board passer
Experience
- Minimum of 8, preferably 10, years of experience in a senior role
- Up to date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications
- Has a working knowledge in Xero Accounting and MYOB accounting software
