Cost Accountant  

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Conduct a review of existing processes and procedures related to cost accounting and implement improvements where required.
• Responsible for the Cost of Goods reconciliations.
• Participate in Bill of Material (BOM) analysis, maintenance and review for manufactured items and prepare cost estimates for new products.
• Perform regular analysis of direct and indirect manufacturing costs with the objective of identifying areas for improvements in profitability.
• Control, plan, monitor and assist in physical inventories and cycle counts of materials.
• Review of monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Review of routine reconciliations of system quantities to identify discrepancies.
• Timely analysis and resolution of discrepancies when they occur.
• Perform risk analysis and provide recommendations for internal control enhancements. Prepare, analyze and track monthly actual to standard usage and cost variances, and assist in the preparation of the resultant reporting.
• Conduct ongoing pricing, cost and gross margin reviews with management for all products and customers to identify and correct substandard margins.
• Perform additional ad-hoc duties as and when required.

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent with CPA license preferred.
• Proven experience in cost accounting, cost absorption and inventory control at a senior level, preferably gained within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable experience in the creation and implementation of new processes and policies.
• Proven cost systems background and excellent analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a close attention to detail.
• Strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines and lead by example.
• Experience working with ERP systems and ability to walk through the details and intricacies of data movements.
• Ability to lead an internal focus group that will tackle inventory movements and its cost implications.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work with minimal direction while meeting multiple deadlines.
