Job Description

  • Train the Finance & Accounting Department and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
  • Work with the MD / COO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships on city, state, and national levels, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
  • Participate in developing new business, specifically:
    • Assist the MD / COO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining the cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.
    • Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all financial reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
  • Oversee all purchasing and payroll bank authorization activity for staff and participants.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization and oversee federal awards and programs.
  • Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved, and all applicable compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with PH government regulations.
  • Attend Board and Subcommittee meetings; including being the Finance Lead on the Audit/Finance Committee.
  • Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.
  • Serve as one of the trustees and oversee administration and financial reporting of the organization's Savings and Retirement Plan.
  • Investigate cost-effective benefit plans and other fringe benefits which the organization may offer employees and potential employees with the goal of attracting and retaining qualified individuals.
  • Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with funders and pension plan requirements, as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management, as well as the Audit/Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place.
  • Oversee business insurance plans and health care coverage analysis.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets, including assets purchased with government funds (computers, etc.) assuring all are in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain corporate liquidity required to meet current and future obligations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage optimal cash positioning through forecasting and short-term investing and borrowing activities;
  • Employ working capital strategies and tools to efficiently manage current assets and liabilities;
  • Utilize various types of payment systems and Internet technologies to transfer monetary value and business documents between parties;
  • Monitor and control corporate exposure to financial and operational risks.
  • Optimize capital structure, manage costs of long-term capital and quantitatively evaluate capital resource investments;
  • Manage cross-border funds movement and utilize international trade financing methods.
  • Coordinate financial functions and sharing of financial information with other internal departments.
  • Delineate appropriate ethical behaviors expected in business activities.
  • Recognize corporate governance issues that arise from the separation of corporate ownership and control.
  • Build cost-effective relationships with financial services providers.
  • Drive the company’s financial planning efforts and initiatives.
  • Perform risk management efforts by analysing the organization’s liabilities and investments.
  • Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure (inclusive but not limited to conversations with various investors and Philippine Stock Exchange)
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations
  • Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.
  • Prepare reliable and current forecasting reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Accounting;
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant;
  • Must have at least 5 years in Managerial position;
  • Must have experience in General Accounting;
  • Must be willing to work both in Quezon City and BGC Taguig;
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
