Data Engineer  

The Data Engineer/Sr. Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. He/she is responsible for designing and implementing data infrastructure, database and tables in a manner that is both efficient and effective for all stakeholders. He/she will support the data scientist, Process Engineers and other internal clients with special data requirements including top management and operation managers. The BI Developer will report to this function.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements
• Identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the structure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other small or big data technologies.
• Build reports and analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Operations, Data and other support teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Keep our data separated and secure across different platforms including cloud-based solutions.
• Create data tools for operations, analytics, data science and other support teams.
• Work with data analytics and call center system vendor to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Train and develop the BI Developer.

• At least 5 years of working experience in data engineering or BI Developer role in a call center or equivalent.
• Graduate of BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology or related.
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Experience with mySQL and PostgreSQL in designing, developing, managing databases and in extracting required data.
• Experience in using PHP, VB6, R or Python
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Power Point
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
