  • Educations: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from reputable college or university with major in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in the same position or field

Job Description

The Operations Research Analyst formulates and applies mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists Management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Formulates mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters;

2. Collaborates with managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives;

3. Collaborates with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions;

4. Prepares management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions;

5. Studies and analyzes information about alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes;

6. Specifies manipulative or computational methods to be applied to models;

7. Performs validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary;

8. Defines data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests;

9. Analyzes information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems;

10. Observes the current systems in operation and gather and analyze information about each parts of component problems, using a variety of sources;

11. Designs, conducts and evaluates experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data;

12. Breaks systems into their components, assigns numerical values to each component and examines the mathematical relationships between them;

13. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Immediate-Head from time to time.
