Job Description

MAIN ROLE:

The Digital Strategist is responsible for inspiring digital creativity, developing and overseeing the who, what, when, and where of listening and responding to consumers and clients, bridging brand experiences, iterating offerings, and collecting and activating consumer relationships in order to accomplish our brand and content goals.

This role will partner closely with the Content (Editorial/Creative/Custom) and Business Development/Marketing departments to manage and oversee all aspects of consumer marketing and execution of influence driving programs that drive brand awareness, audience acquisition and retention, and enable revenue growth for Hinge Inquirer and its roster of brands. This role is also responsible for mining data and using analytics to drive engagement and conversion.

In this role you will be tasked with conceiving innovative ideas for product development, brand management, and content strategy through the collaborative development of key messaging concepts, copy and design direction, digital leadership and hands-on execution as needed to meet our brands’ objectives, while staying true to our unique and premium brand of storytelling.

Leads the activities of a broad functional area.

Assists executives and/or other senior leaders in defining organizational goals and strategic plans.

FUNCTIONAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Digital transformation and creative leadership, audience development, strategy, and management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the execution of our digital strategies particularly to:
  • Define our purpose: set leverage points and measure brand impact
  • Feed creativity: unlock insights from category conventions, cultural tensions, and consumer motivations
  • Define targets and segments through social/interest graphs and communities relevant to our brands
  • Develop strategic and creative presentations
  • Plan, execute, and measure campaigns

Other responsibilities include: development of new strategies and approaches for increased audience reach, engagement, retention; ownership and management of the marketing roadmap; reporting, analysis, and communication of business performance and impact to stakeholders; and partnering across departments to support company goals.

Integrated Marketing

  • Plan, develop, and lead all aspects of our digital strategies in order to achieve the company’s strategic short and long-term audience growth and brand value goals.
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve campaign/initiative's goals to deliver awareness, brand impressions, and engagement.
  • Manage and assess campaign and brand performance to proactively suggest action plans where opportunities exist.
  • Explore, evaluate, and present emerging media, marketing tools, trends.
  • Initiating partnerships with platforms such as Google and Facebook

Brand Building and Business Development

  • Work with the Content, Business Development, and Revenue teams to identify and drive new business opportunities and support revenue growth for our media and branded content business.
  • Mine consumer, competitive, and industry research to uncover meaningful insights that will drive content creation and revenue generation.
  • Help create digital products for monetization.
  • Help negotiate content partnership deals.
  • Convert client briefs into creative executions that harness Hinge’s unique ability to deliver engagement and influence.
  • Work with the Revenue team in tracking and optimizing campaigns to meet committed KPIs.

Training

  • Responsible for knowledge transfer and upskilling across relevant departments
  • Set learning topics on digital (what topics are relevant for the team, updates on new tools and platforms)
  • Assist in building the digital team of Hinge

Strategy and Future-Proofing

  • Drive culture of learning and transformation by keeping up to date on relevant skills, software, tools, and industry trends—in digital, marketing, ad space, and content marketing—and facilitating knowledge transfer. In consultation with the other key leaders, you will also oversee the creative and professional development of the assigned team, including scaling up relevant skill sets.

Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of Journalism or Communication, Marketing or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in Digital Marketing (Web, Social Media, Email, Mobile)
  • With Digital/Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experience
  • Digital Content Production and Digital Marketing (Writing, Strategies)
  • Can work/knowledgeable in Content Management System (CMS)
  • Hootsuite and Sprout Social (Social Media Monitoring Site)
  • Familiarity with Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal CMS System
  • Can handle special digital projects (End-to-End)
  • Firm grasp of emerging digital tools
  • Thorough understanding of digital touch points
  • Possess broad knowledge of best digital practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
