Job Description
- Provide paralegal, administrative, and secretarial support to the Legal and Compliance Department
- Responsible for ensuring that the institute complies with applicable laws, regulations, and agreements set by pertinent government agencies and internal accrediting bodies
- Ensures that the Institute complies and properly implements the governing business rules and ethics, professional conduct and code of best practices
- Monitors and updates all regulatory permits, documents, and procedures required by government agencies and different accreditation bodies
- Identifies and assess business risks and work closely with the Management and other Department Heads to prevent and/or resolve potential risks identified
- Participates in the assessment of various project of the Institute and provides relevant recommendations
- Conducts internal audit to ensure that all Department complies with the rules and regulations set by the Institute, relevant government agencies and international accreditation bodies
- Drafts and reviews contracts, pleadings, correspondences, policies, procedures, and legal and non-legal forms
- Prepares/renders written or verbal legal opinion/advice
- Provides legal updates through orientation/communications and presentations
- Design spreadsheet tables/documentation; prepare presentation material for meetings; create and amend agreements, include improving formatting, etc.
- Provides legal research and due diligence as required by internal clients
- Coordinates with external counsel
- Manages and monitors existing contracts
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law; Admission to the Bar is preferred but not necessary
- At least 5 to 7 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position; preferable specialized in law/legal services, corporate law or equivalent
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office packages – ability to use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Proven organizational skills
- Must have experience in handling labor relations/cases; can do policies and procedures
- Self-starter, pragmatic, and proactive
- Flexible working approach and willingness to learn
- Confident, able to work independently, and manage a multi-faceted workload
- Able to work ASAP
