Job Description

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Administer, install, upgrade and support assigned IT systems and their operational components such as hardware, software, and configuration ensuring best operational and technical practices and following procedures within the corporate IT team.
  • Provide IT infrastructure support to assigned SGS locations.
  • Travel as needed to other SGS locations and data centers.
  • Maintain and monitor the servers at the corporate data center and at assigned SGS locations.
  • Administrator and support Windows and SQL clustering.
  • Assist in administering the Active Directory structure, objects (users, computers, and printers), group policy objects and domain membership. Assist in maintaining DNS, DHCP, NLB, IIS and other functions of the network, servers, and workstations.
  • Assist and backup IT Client Technologies Engineers in addressing and prioritizing tickets. Address issues that are made by users and/or assigned. Maintain the Helpdesk system to ensure efficient operation and make upgrades, fixes and improvements as needed. Provide and make available proper reporting and metrics for the Director of Infrastructure & IT Operations and other SGS management.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation relating to network operations, job functions and IT systems. Assist in administering such documentation on IT SharePoint sites. Help with the administration of SharePoint.
  • Oversee the backup solutions at the corporate data center to ensure operation.
  • Oversee system health monitoring.
  • Provide 24/7 support for high priority projects, incidents, or change activities as required.

  • Comply with SGS EH&S policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Keep department organized and clean.
  • Attend company-wide and departmental meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years as an I.T. support professional
  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Arts or related category (Technical certification equivalent accepted)
  • Experience in/with:
    • Active Directory 2003\2008\2012.
    • Both Apple Macintosh and Windows Server platforms.
    • Microsoft Exchange Server.
    • VMWare ESX and HyperV
    • SAN solutions (EMC Clarion CX\AX solutions, Dell Compellent)
    • Fabric switching and zoning
  • Experience in enterprise software licensing provisioning preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot DNS as well as TCIP issues
  • Excellent English communication skills. French and/or Spanish a bonus
