Job Description
- Sketch and create prototypes and models based on certain company specifications or necessities for mass production.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) programs to develop and modify models prior to creation.
- Keep track of market trends, such as which designs are selling better in their market.
- Responsible and familiar with the construction process and the feasibility of designs as products.
- Maintain a safe environment for workers and prospective customers. Often this entails not only ensuring safe use of tools and potentially harmful chemicals, but also ensuring that their products are well constructed and sturdy enough for the purpose for which they were designed.
Minimum Qualifications
- A graduate of any four (4) year course
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a Furniture Company.
- Must be artistic and practical in creating fixtures for homes and businesses
- Can use hand tools and computer software such as AutoCad, Sketchup, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel to create their designs.
